Job summary

Colorado State University’s Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML) seeks a GIS Technician to support the Vegetation Mapping and Wetland Delineation teams in Fort Collins, CO. This is a full-time, in-person position with a potential for field work and data-entry tasks including digitizing imagery and creating maps and plant guides.

The candidate should be pursuing a related B.S. degree, have 3 months to 3 years of relevant experience, and be familiar with vegetation surveys

Qualifications

• Pursuing a B.S. in a natural resources-, cultural resources-, ecosystem science-, or environmental compliance-related field (sophomore or higher).
• 3 months to 3 years of relevant experience (internships, fieldwork, or coursework count).
• Basic field data collection skills including vegetation surveys and GPS-based mapping.

Responsibilities

• Data entry, mapping, and creation of plant guides and maps.
• Digitizing aerial imagery and performing spatial analyses.
• Potential field work as needed and coordinating with Vegetation Mapping and Wetland Delineation teams.
