Responsibilities

Job Summary

The GIS Field Technician is responsible for collecting GSP data points in the field, reviewing and making maps, geographic information systems applications, manipulate and understand digital land data and manage data entered a GIS database.

Must be able to work in the field and be familiar with the ESRI ArcGIS platform as well as other GIS tools.

Core Responsibilities

  • Adhere and promote company safety measures at all times
  • Collect field data points using a GPS unit
  • Work within the ArcGIS/ESRI Group platform. Support the third-party design effort.
  • Work with mobile and desktop applications.
  • Provide field support for design to adhere to company and contract requirements and support overall construction schedule
  • Assist in the development and implementation of field computer applications to facilitate the control and collection of data for mapping (GPS)(GIS)(KMZ).
  • Troubleshoot ESRI platform and third-party designers for any anomalies in the system or processes.
  • Keep documentation and GIS database up to date and accurate at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently as well as interact with team members, clients and management staff.
  • Experience working in field in varying weather and site conditions
  • Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS software and Geo-database experience
  • Basic computer skills in AutoCAD, MS Office programs, field applications for surveying and data management.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position may require significant time standing or walking on uneven ground, possible climbing of ladders or being in high places, working in tight spaces, lifting up to 50 pounds, and, in general, being overall physically demanding. It may also require work in an all-weather environment.
