Job summary

State of Washington Dept. of Transportation is seeking a strategic GIS Support Services Supervisor to lead enterprise GIS services that support transportation planning, operations, and data-driven decision making across Washington State.

The role involves supervising GIS professionals, directing ArcGIS Enterprise and Online environments, and delivering advanced GIS solutions while collaborating with partners and staff to support critical transportation infrastructure.

Qualifications

Professional GIS analyst work within an enterprise environment.
Elicit business needs for GIS solutions and document specifications.
Knowledge of cartography and spatial analysis principles.
Experience applying ESRI geospatial technologies to meet enterprise needs.
Experience with ESRI’s Enterprise Portal and Web GIS services.
GIS training or coursework in geospatial data management and analysis.
Strong technical writing and public speaking to communicate GIS concepts.

Responsibilities

Supervise GIS professionals delivering helpdesk, web GIS admin, and training services.
Direct configuration and customization of geospatial technology and develop GIS resources for staff.
Provide advanced GIS business analysis and solution consultation.
Manage administration of ArcGIS Enterprise Portal and related web services.
Develop cartographic products and manage GIS project outputs.
Provide EOC support and participate in IMT as needed.
Serve in Command and General Staff roles in WSDOT EOCs when required.
