Job Description
The Procon Technology Division seeks a qualified and enthusiastic GIS professional to facilitate project work related to BIM integration, construction management, and project delivery using GIS means and methods. The qualified candidate will assist on industry-leading initiatives and projects while paving the way for future efforts. Procon Consulting operates as an owner's representative throughout the United States for government construction projects. We specialize in capital improvement projects in government construction & engineering.
Competencies, Skills, & Technical Abilities
- Experience in facilities management, building design, construction, and/or information technologies.
- Competency in writing advanced Python/ArcPy scripts.
- Knowledge of and proficiency with multi-user geodatabases and geodatabase design, database replication/versioning techniques and best practices, and ArcGIS desktop client/ArcSDE server interface.
- Knowledge of and proficiency with the effective use and operation of ArcGIS for Server 10.x and its extensions (Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst, Network Analyst, etc.).
- Experience with BIM to GIS integrations and/or ArcGIS Indoors.
- Knowledge of and proficiency with ArcGIS for Server and Server Architecture in a Cloud environment.
- Knowledge of and proficiency with ETL tools and data interoperability best practices.
- Knowledge of and proficiency with geographic data management tools, practices, methods, and principles.
- Knowledge of and proficiency with geospatial web application design methods, tools, and development.
- Knowledge of digitizing techniques, geographic standards, and coordinate systems.
- Ability to problem solve between GIS and CAD and BIM applications to perform efficient data management and data conversion.
- Ability to organize work, establish priorities, meet established deadlines, and follow up on assignments with minimal direction.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communications with client staff and project consultants, private contractors, employees, and the general public.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree in Geography, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of progressively responsible experience in GIS development, programming, server administration, geospatial analysis, database design, and geospatial data management.
- Ability to obtain government security clearance.
- Graduate Certificate in Geography, GIS, Construction Management, or related field.
- GIS Professional (GISP) Certification.
- Esri Technical Certification(s).
- BIM Certification(s).
- CADD Certification(s).
Responsibilities & Duties
- Guide the use of technology, tools, and/or workflows based on a learned understanding of client goals, objectives, or needs.
- Guide the creation of standard operating procedures, white papers, or other technical references for instructing client’s personnel in the use of GIS.
- Present relevant technology to the client as it becomes known or available in Esri’s portfolio for evaluation to address a present or future need.
- Provide training where necessary on ESRI tools to carry knowledge and expertise of how to use GIS tools to applicable Organizational Business Units.
