You will research, test, and evaluate equipment and applications, develop purchase specifications, and provide production support for complex software. The role involves collaboration with users, vendors and contractors and may include enterprise-scale projects.

• Assist in developing purchase specifications.
• Develop, test, document, monitor and provide production support for complex applications.
• Test, install, customize and maintain new applications and systems.
• Develop and deliver employee training.
• Diagnose and remedy system or programming problems and develop alternatives.
• Interact with users, vendors and contractors to select software and equipment.
• Manage projects including creating relevant project documentation, assigning tasks, and reporting project progress.
• Develop internal project management standards and methodologies.
• May manage enterprise-wide, large team or more complex projects.
• May design, write and maintain software and databases for various city departments and functions.
• May perform database backup and recovery, daily monitoring of scheduled jobs, database design, development, and support.
