Job summary
Bernalillo County is seeking a GIS Manager to lead the development, maintenance, and integration of complex GIS systems across Public Works - Operations & Maintenance. You will supervise staff, oversee ArcGIS Online, and deliver GIS services for planning, transportation, and public safety.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 6 years of GIS experience with 2 years supervisory, offering competitive pay and benefits and a location at 2400 Broadway SE in Albuquerque.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Planning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Six (6) years of GIS or research-oriented work experience.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, evaluate, and guide GIS staff and manage schedules.
- Coordinate and perform advanced-level GIS work to support departmental initiatives.
- Oversee development and maintenance of ArcGIS Online content and web maps.
- Maintain an integrated urban land information system for planning and asset management.
- Design, develop, and manage complex GIS databases and related tools.
- Develop and maintain custom GIS applications, reports, and spatial models.
- Provide technical support for GIS software and write technical documentation.
- Assist with writing RFPs and manage project execution with vendors.
- Act as liaison with internal departments and external agencies for GIS services.
