Job summary

The City of East Point is seeking a GIS Coordinator to coordinate, develop, and maintain GIS data and applications used across City departments. The role focuses on maintaining basemap information, ArcGIS online maps, and producing complex GIS products and analyses to meet diverse business needs.

The ideal candidate will have a geography or GIS-related degree with 2–5 years of experience in asset management GIS systems, strong data quality skills, and the ability to train staff and collaborate

Qualifications

• Degree in geography, surveying, computer science, urban planning or related field.
• GIS certifications preferred (GISP or similar).
• 2–5 years experience with asset management GIS systems or related software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, develop and maintain GIS data and applications.
• Maintain basemap information and ArcGIS online maps.
• Produce complex GIS products and analysis for multiple departments.
• Customize data for integration with other systems.
• Manage GIS related projects and support City staff using GIS apps.
• Train staff and coordinate data transfer with external entities.
