Job summary

VICTUS Networks in Greece is seeking a GIS Engineer to design, develop, and evolve GIS platforms and geospatial tools for network planning and operations. You will transform complex data into practical solutions and automate workflows to improve efficiency.

Join our MIS & Tools team to collaborate across disciplines, implement REST services, and support Radio/Transmission planning tools. The role requires scripting in Python/JavaScript/PHP, SQL knowledge, and experience on Windows and Linux

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with GIS platforms, especially Esri ArcGIS Suite or QGIS.
• Experience with spatial databases such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS, MS SQL Server or Oracle Spatial.
• Programming/scripting in Python, JavaScript, PHP and/or Bash.
• Knowledge of relational databases, SQL and REST APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain enterprise GIS platforms and geospatial apps.
• Support GIS systems, servers, and data integration workflows.
• Develop web-mapping apps and REST API integrations.

About the Role

As a GIS Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development and evolution of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and digital tools supporting network planning, engineering and operations.

Working within our MIS & Tools team, you will help transform complex network and geospatial data into practical solutions, automate processes and develop applications that improve efficiency and decision-making across the organization.

You will report to the MIS & Tools Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

GIS Development & Systems Management

• Design, develop and maintain enterprise GIS platforms, spatial databases and geospatial applications.
• Support the architecture, configuration and administration of GIS systems and servers.
• Develop and enhance web-mapping applications and integrate REST APIs for spatial data services.

Automation & Data Integration

• Design and automate ETL pipelines for processing and integrating large-scale geospatial datasets.
• Develop scripts and tools to automate GIS workflows and business processes.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency and effective integration across systems.

Network Tools & Applications

• Administer and support Radio and Transmission planning applications.
• Develop and maintain digital tools supporting network engineering and operational activities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to translate business and technical requirements into effective digital solutions.

Project Delivery & Collaboration

• Participate in requirements gathering, technical specifications and solution design.
• Deliver system enhancements and new functionalities within agreed timelines.
• Manage multiple development activities while ensuring quality and reliability.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Hands‑on experience with GIS platforms, particularly Esri ArcGIS Suite (ArcGIS Pro, Enterprise, Server) and/or QGIS.
• Experience with spatial databases such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle Spatial.
• Programming and scripting skills in Python, JavaScript, PHP and/or Bash.
• Knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Experience working with Windows and Linux server environments.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, data integration and automation workflows.
• Knowledge of telecommunications networks and Radio/Transmission planning tools will be considered an advantage.
