Job Summary
NexGen Technologies, Inc. is looking for a part-time GIS Developer to support federal government applications and programs. This individual will be required to work closely with members of NexGen and client teams, including but not limited to subject matter experts, technical staff, and project managers. A strong candidate will bring deep fluency in ESRI's out-of-the-box (COTS) tools, designing and building custom, reusable widgets within Experience Builder and Survey123 that scale across multiple projects rather than defaulting to fully custom, one-off application development. Experience modernizing legacy custom GIS applications into scalable, repeatable Widget-based solutions is also expected.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (as assigned)
- Design and build custom, reusable widgets within ArcGIS Experience Builder and Survey123 that deploy across multiple projects, extending COTS functionality rather than building one-off custom applications.
- Lead modernization efforts to migrate legacy, custom-coded GIS applications into standardized, scalable, and repeatable Widget-based solutions.
- Manage GIS data within a multi-user, enterprise Geodatabase environment using ESRI's Enterprise Geodatabase software implemented in SQL Server Environment.
- Evolve and maintain our build process, test automation infrastructure, and other custom tooling.
- Experience in developing written technical documentation (such as metadata, training materials, workflow diagrams, white papers, etc.).Preparing Agile/Scrum meetings and sprints with team and client.

Required Skills and Abilities
- At least 5 years of experience specifically in a GIS-related development role.
- Experience with ESRI's ArcGIS software including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Web Application Builder, Experience Builder, Field Maps, and Survey123.
- Demonstrated expertise developing custom, reusable widgets for ArcGIS Experience Builder and Survey123 that extend COTS functionality and scale across multiple projects, as distinct from building fully custom, standalone GIS applications.
- Proven track record modernizing legacy custom-built GIS applications into scalable, repeatable, Widget-based solutions.
- Experience using ESRI Portal for ArcGIS and/or ArcGIS Online for Organizations.
- Experience working in an Azure Environment (SQL Server to Azure SQL).
- Experience with Power Platform, Power BI and ESRI Integration - Interact with users to identify and articulate their needs (Integrate Power BI reporting GIS dashboards).
- Technical Expertise with JSON, XML, Web services, and ArcGIS API.
- Professional knowledge of concepts and principles of geospatial data management, and technical problem-solving skills related to geospatial software.
- Ability to apply and promote good software engineering practices such as test automation, modularization, and simplification.
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with emerging AI/GeoAI trends and tools within the ESRI ecosystem (e.g., ArcGIS AI Assistant, GeoAI capabilities) and their practical application to GIS workflows.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or Business.
Additional Requirements
- The successful candidate will also be able to pass background screening prior to employment.
- US Citizenship, legal permanent residence, or US work authorization with minimum 3 years of US presence is required due to federal contract requirements.

Compensation: $55-65 per hour
