Job summary

City of Houston is seeking a GIS data support technician to assist in Houston Water/Wastewater Operations. You will compile, map, and update work orders for sanitary sewer projects, using ArcGIS Pro/Online, Infor IPS, and MS Office.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s degree in a related field with 2 years of experience; a Bachelor's degree can substitute. Strong GIS skills and teamwork are required for daily operations and project timelines.

Qualifications

Requires an Associate's degree in Engineering, Drafting, Designing or a closely related field.
Two years of related experience such as surveying, engineering, drafting and/or designing.
A Bachelor’s degree may substitute for education and experience; direct experience may substitute year-for-year.

Responsibilities

Prepare work order packages with maps and documentation using ArcGIS Pro/Online, Infor IPS and MS Office.
Perform data entry and updates in Infor IPS to support work orders.
Maintain and update GIS data for sanitary sewer assets from field information.
Support CCTV and rehabilitation teams by compiling data and creating maps/documents as needed.
Review work order information for completeness and accuracy before issuance.
Coordinate with internal teams to provide data, maps and documentation for daily operations.
