Job summary

Atlanta Beltline, Inc. is seeking a GIS & Data Analytics Manager to transform spatial and organizational data into actionable insights across planning, operations, and decision-making.

You will serve as a technical resource for GIS, spatial analytics, data analysis, and visualization while advancing the organization's data strategy. The role develops and maintains enterprise GIS resources, performs advanced analyses, and builds automated workflows and dashboards to support organizational

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in GIS, analytics, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible GIS/spatial analytics experience.
• Experience with enterprise GIS environments and data governance.
• Strong SQL experience with relational databases.
• Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis.
• Ability to communicate technical findings to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain enterprise GIS datasets, geodatabases, feature services, and metadata.
• Develop and improve organization-wide GIS standards and data governance practices.
• Perform advanced spatial analyses to support planning, housing, transit, and community engagement.
• Coordinate external vendors and contractors for GIS and data projects.

RoleOverview:

TheGIS&DataAnalyticsManager supports AtlantaBeltline’smission by transforming spatialandorganizationaldataintoactionableinsightsthatimproveplanning,operations,anddecision-making.ReportingtotheDirectorofImpact&Evaluation,thispositionservesasatechnicalresourceinGIS,spatialanalytics,dataanalysis,andvisualizationwhilecontributingtotheorganization’sbroaderdatastrategy.

TheGIS&DataAnalyticsManager developsandmaintainsenterpriseGISresources,performsspatialandstatisticalanalysis,managescomplexdatasets,buildsautomatedworkflows,andcreatesdashboardsandanalyticalproductsthatsupportorganizationalpriorities.ThispositionpartnersacrossdepartmentstointegrateGISwithenterprisedatasystemsandleveragestoolssuchasPython,R,SQL,andemerginganalyticaltechnologiestoimprovedataquality,automateprocesses,andadvanceevidence-baseddecision-making.

KeyResponsibilities:

GIS&SpatialAnalytics

• ManageandmaintainAtlantaBeltline'senterpriseGISdatasets,geodatabases,featureservices,andmetadata.
• Develop,maintain,andimproveorganization-wideGISstandards,templates,symbology,anddatagovernancepractices.
• Performadvancedspatialanalysestosupportplanning,economicdevelopment,housing,transit,andcommunityengagement.
• CoordinateandmanageexternalvendorsandcontractorssupportingGIS,spatialdata,andrelatedanalyticalprojects,includingprojectcoordination,deliverables,timelines,andqualityassurance.

DataAnalytics&Automation

• Analyzelarge,complexdatasetsusingPython,R,SQL,Excel,andotheranalyticaltoolstoidentifytrends,patterns,andopportunities.
• Developautomatedworkflowsfordatacollection,cleaning,transformation,validation,andreporting.
• Supportenterprisedatamanagementefforts,includingdataqualityassurance,documentation,andgovernance.
• Developscripts,queries,andprocessesthatimproveefficiencyandreducemanualreporting.

Dashboards&Visualization

• Design,develop,andmaintainenterprisedashboards,reports,andanalyticalapplications
• Translatecomplexanalysesintoclearvisualizationsandrecommendationsfordiverseaudiences.
• Createdataproductsthatsupporttransparency,performancemeasurement,anddecision-making.

OrganizationalSupport

• Partnerwithdepartmentstounderstandbusinessneedsandrecommendanalyticalapproaches.
• Prioritize,manage,anddeliveranalyticalservicesthatsupportorganizationalpriorities.
• Serveasaninternalconsultant,helpingdepartmentsframeanalyticalquestions,identifyappropriatemethodologies,andinterpretfindingstosupportdecision-making
