Position Overview

The GIS Coordinator I develops and maintains an Installation-specific extension to the ASUS Enterprise GIS (AEGIS) program, supporting all ASUS functions on the Installation including Capital, Construction, Operations, Administration, Environmental, Health, and Safety personnel. This role involves technical duties ranging from data entry to deploying complex Esri-based solutions, adhering to corporate standards and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain, analyze, and present spatial data using Esri products.
  2. Support the GIS-centric digital twin of ASUS utility infrastructure, ensuring asset accuracy and integration into inventory and asset management systems.
  3. Manage version control in a SQL-based SDE geodatabase environment.
  4. Incorporate spatial and non-spatial data from various sources into Enterprise ArcSDE geodatabases.
  5. Review site plans and construction documents for accuracy before GIS entry.
  6. Track inventory changes meticulously for auditing and contractual purposes.
  7. Ensure GIS data compatibility with Cityworks.
  8. Use ETL methods to load data into standardized formats like SDSFIE.
  9. Create detailed maps and geospatial products for various stakeholders.
  10. Publish services to ArcGIS Server and manage content in ArcGIS Online & Portal.
  11. Support field data collection using GPS and other technologies.
  12. Train staff on GPS hardware and GIS applications.
  13. Participate in project meetings, support engineering and IT departments, and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, GIS, IT or related field, with 2 years of relevant experience, or 5 years of progressive GIS experience in water/wastewater industry.
  • Strong communication skills and understanding of cartography.
  • Ability to interpret engineering plans and aerial imagery.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively.
  • Pass background checks including NAC; US citizenship required.
Technical Skills & Competencies

Proficiency in ArcGIS suite, familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Cityworks, GPS software, and MS Office applications. Good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of water and utility infrastructure design principles is preferred.
