Intellectual Concepts is seeking a skilled GIS / CAD Technician to join our innovative and collaborative Data Analytic Group. The role focuses on leveraging geospatial technologies to develop creative solutions, supporting Mobility and Environmental Services through advanced geospatial analytics, real-time data integration, field app configuration, and data-driven mapping for community assessment and decision-making.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for developing and executing geospatial strategies within a team environment. They should enthusiastically promote and support the expansion of geospatial solutions across the company.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize CAD knowledge, including Autodesk or Bentley systems.
- Collaborate with engineers, planners, public health professionals, and field personnel.
- Design, develop, and implement applications for spatial data analysis.
- Perform GIS troubleshooting and corrective actions.
- Manage data sets, CAD conversions, map creation, and database management.
- Design or develop databases with geographic or topographic data.
- Monitor map updates for accuracy and compliance.
- Create overlay maps showing boundaries or topographic features.
- Ensure accuracy of map layers, identify errors, and make corrections.
- Determine scales, line sizes, or colors for printed maps using plotters.
- Respond to map requests by compiling database information.
Typical Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Geography, GIS, or related field.
- Two years of professional GIS programming, analysis, or cartography experience.
Licensing/Certifications:
- GIS Professional or Esri Certification
- AutoCAD
