Job summary

Kforce has a client in New York, NY seeking a GIS, API, .NET, JavaScript Developer. This role is hybrid, working 3 days per week onsite in Colorado Springs, CO, Lenexa, KS or Lubbock, TX, with the remainder remote.

You will lead development and upkeep of Data/API integrations, collaborating with business analysts, technical leads, and other developers to deliver robust solutions. Applicants should have strong API, .NET and JavaScript experience, familiarity with SOA, REST/SOAP, and SQL Server,

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of API development experience (depending on programmer level).
• Extensive knowledge of .NET and Web UI/Java Script Frameworks.
• Experience with integration architecture patterns, standards, frameworks, or tools.
• Experience designing and implementing security protocols to protect systems and data.
• Experience with public facing, high performing enterprise web services and APIs.
• Strong knowledge/experience in SOA, WCF, Web Services (SOAP, REST, XML, JSON).
• Experience with Test Driven Design, unit and functional tests.
• Strong database development skills in SQL (SQL Server).
• Knowledge of GIS/Geospatial tech, AgTech is a plus.

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in New York, NY that is seeking a GIS, API, .NET, JavaScript Developer. This role will work hybrid 3 days a week onsite in Colorado Springs, CO, Lenexa, KS or Lubbock, TX. Summary: This Developer specializes in leading the development and upkeep of critical Data/API integrations with external parties, focusing on delivering solutions that are functional, reliable, and efficient. This role involves an active collaboration with business analysts, technical leads, and fellow programmers. Responsibilities:

• Regularly evaluate the existing Data/API features to identify areas for enhancement
• Implement performance optimization strategies to ensure the Data/API operates efficiently
• Stay up to date with new technologies and industry best practices to incorporate in the Data/API
• Collaborate with different teams, such as front-end developers, database administrators, and product managers, to integrate Data/API components
• Ensure seamless communication and understanding across cross-functional teams to facilitate effective integration
• Assist in the planning and architectural decision-making processes
• Engage in building and managing technical solutions that align with organizational standards and processes
• Follow the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) protocols to deliver high-quality software
• Verify that both functional (what the system should do) and non-functional (how the system should perform) requirements are well-defined and understood
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for the software, including design specifications, test cases, and user guides
• Engage in peer code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards
• Validate that the design documentation and test coverage are adequate for the requirements and use-cases
• Oversee the implementation of new features and manage any changes to existing functionalities

Requirements

• 5-10 years of API development experience (depending on programmer level)
• Extensive knowledge of .NET and Web UI/Java Script Frameworks
• Possess knowledge and experience with integration architecture patterns, standards, frameworks, or tools
• The position requires practical experience in designing and implementing security protocols and patterns to ensure robust protection of systems and data
• Solid understanding and hands-on experience in designing, implementing, deploying, and maintaining public facing, high performing and scalable enterprise web services and APIs
• Strong knowledge/experience is required in SOA, WCF, Web Services (SOAP, REST, XML, JSON) and various transport and security protocols
• Possess work experience with application development tools (e.g., GIT, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, etc.)
• Must have experience with Test Driven Design, including a proven track record of converting requirements into use-cases and subsequently into unit and functional test cases
• Possess strong database development skills within SQL (SQL Server)
• Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of Agricultural Technology (AgTech), geoprocessing, and Geographic Information System (GIS) frameworks
• A collaborator with solid communication skills, an excellent problem solver, able to troubleshoot, and can embrace new challenges
• Has a positive attitude and possess the ability to remain flexible in a dynamic environment
• Can manage time across multiple, simultaneous projects
• Proven ability to work effectively as a member of a team, as well as being able work independently
• Must be able to work a hybrid schedule (3 days per week in the office)
