Job summary

Waggoner Engineering in Bossier City, LA seeks an GIS Specialist I with strong ArcGIS expertise to support spatial analysis, data management, and cartographic deliverables. You will collaborate with Civil/Municipal teams and help implement ArcGIS Online/Enterprise within engineering workflows.

Ideal candidates hold a GIS-related bachelor's degree and are proficient in ArcGIS Pro, Online, and Enterprise, with knowledge of SQL Server or PostgreSQL a plus. Hybrid work options may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in ArcGIS including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise.
• Strong GIS principles, spatial analysis, and cartographic knowledge.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with Python scripting and ArcGIS API for Python is a plus.
• Knowledge of SQL Server or PostgreSQL is desirable.
• Familiarity with civil or environmental engineering is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation, maintenance, and analysis of spatial datasets using ArcGIS software.
• Conduct spatial analysis to support engineering projects, including site suitability analysis, network analysis, and spatial modeling.
• Collaborate with project teams to understand GIS requirements and deliver solutions tailored to their needs.
• Manage and maintain GIS data repositories, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
• Produce high-quality cartographic products for reports, presentations, and client deliverables.
• Provide technical support and training to colleagues on ArcGIS software and related GIS tools.
• Stay updated on the latest developments in ArcGIS technology and recommend innovative solutions to improve workflows and efficiency.
• Assist in the implementation and administration of ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise platforms.
• Support the integration of GIS with other engineering software and systems.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering, or related field.

• Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL) is desirable.
• Familiarity with engineering disciplines (e.g., civil engineering, environmental engineering) is advantageous.
