Verdantas is seeking a GIS Analyst for our Tampa location.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The GIS Professional will work with our team of successful Ecologists and Project Managers in the Southeastern United States. The work will primarily be conducted from our Tampa location but may involve travel to various field sites as well as travel to client and/or agency meetings.

Major responsibilities of the GIS Analyst include the following:
  • Organizing and maintaining field data
  • Interpreting maps, land use plans, aerial photographs, topographic maps, etc. to use for environmental analysis
  • Creating applications in Field Maps and Survey 123
  • Assisting in coordination and development of GIS maps and graphics needed for reports and permit applications
  • Preparing documentation for preliminary data requests from agencies and public sources of environmental data
  • Assisting in the development of project scopes and budgets

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 2-4 years of experience or related experience with a Master's Degree
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArGIS Online, map design, and report generation in a GIS environment
  • Capability to develop customized applications, trouble shoot GPS and GIS hardware and software problems, and maintain data collection equipment is highly desired
  • Basic knowledge of CAD and MicroStation as well as practical experience with computer software and databases used in scientific applications for data management/analysis is desirable.
  • A GIS certificate and relevant work history are highly desired
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines and multitask
  • High Attention to detail
