Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a GIS Analyst to collect, convert, organize, and analyze geospatial data for diverse engineering and infrastructure projects in Plano, TX. You will create high-quality maps, exhibits, and visualizations to support client decisions and maintain project metadata and spatial databases.

You will collaborate with internal teams and clients to understand needs, deliver effective GIS solutions, and help improve data management and GIS workflows while staying current with emerging

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Cartography, or related field.
  • 0–3 years GIS experience through professional, internship, or academic projects.
  • Experience using Esri's ArcGIS software suite.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle.
  • Ability to interpret surveys, plans, and aerial imagery.
  • Understanding of mapping principles, coordinate systems, projections, and cartographic standards.
  • Ability to create accurate maps and other geospatial deliverables.
  • Basic understanding of programming concepts and GIS automation is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills in a collaborative environment.

  • Assist with data management, quality control, and GIS workflow improvements
  • Stay current with emerging GIS technologies, software, and best practices while continuously expanding your technical skills
  • Work closely with senior GIS professionals who will provide mentorship and guidance as you develop your expertise
  • Apply established GIS methods while gaining experience solving real-world geospatial challenges
  • May assist in coordinating the work of GIS Technicians and Drafters on project tasks
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Cartography, or a related field
  • 0–3 years of GIS experience through professional, internship, or academic projects
  • Experience using Esri's ArcGIS software suite
  • Familiarity with database management concepts, including SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle
  • Ability to interpret surveys, legal descriptions, construction plans, and aerial/orthophotography
  • Understanding of mapping principles, coordinate systems, projections, and cartographic standards
  • Ability to create accurate maps and other geospatial deliverables
