Job summary

Missile Defense Agency seeks a geospatial specialist to provide technical GIS support across engineering and program operations. Design, analyze, and develop geospatial solutions for infrastructure and environmental data, and produce maps, dashboards, and visualizations.

Responsibilities include data management, QA/QC, automated workflows, and integrating GIS with enterprise systems. Requires ArcGIS Pro, Python, and a security clearance; federal/government experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience or Master’s with 3+ years
• Secret Clearance with US DOW required at hire
• Strong understanding of geospatial principles, theories, and concepts
• Knowledge of environmental science, remote sensing, data engineering, or surveying
• Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Online and geodatabases
• Knowledge of C, C#, HTML, ASP.NET, and Python
• Experience supporting engineering or government programs preferred
• Experience with remote sensing tools, FME, QGIS, or cloud geospatial environments preferred
• Experience developing web-based GIS products using ArcGIS Experience Builder, Dashboards, or Web AppBuilder

Job description

• Provide technical geospatial support across engineering and program operations for Missile Defense Agency Facility Life Cycle Management


• Design, analyze, and develop geospatial solutions and product specifications for infrastructure, hydrographic, and physiographic features


• Perform GIS analyses on natural resources and environmental datasets


• Plan, design, develop, document, and analyze spatial and relational databases


• Manage, integrate, and analyze spatial and tabular data using GIS software


• Build, update, and maintain geospatial databases using data-capture tools and methods


• Produce geospatial map products, dashboards, and visualizations


• Identify, evaluate, and integrate external GIS data sources into enterprise datasets


• Perform data QC/QA and ensure metadata compliance


• Develop automated geoprocessing workflows using Python, ModelBuilder, or other approved tools


• Support integration of GIS capabilities with enterprise systems, analytical tools, and engineering workflows


• Provide technical support and engage internal teams and external customers on complex technical challenges

Requirements

• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelor’s in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Master’s in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience


• Secret Clearance with US DOW required at hire


• Demonstrated understanding and wide application of geospatial technical principles, theories, and concepts


• General knowledge of environmental science, remote sensing, data engineering, or surveying


• Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Online, geodatabases, spatial analysis tools, and standard desktop software


• Knowledge of C, C#, HTML, ASP.NET, and Python


• Ability to represent the engineering organization in inter-organizational and customer discussions to resolve technical issues


• Prior experience supporting engineering or technical programs within industrial, defense, or government environments preferred


• Experience with remote sensing tools, FME, QGIS, or cloud-hosted geospatial environments preferred


• Experience developing web-based GIS products using ArcGIS Experience Builder, Dashboards, or Web AppBuilder preferred
