Base pay range

$50.00/daily - $60.00/daily

Position: GIS Research Analyst

Type: Hourly contract

Compensation: $50–$60/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 15–20 hours/week (potential to extend)

Role Responsibilities

• Craft high-quality, real-world geospatial analysis problems to support AI model training.
• Design tasks involving zoning databases, parcel data extraction, and spatial data retrieval from government GIS portals.
• Create clear, structured evaluation rubrics to assess AI agent performance on geospatial tasks.
• Apply domain expertise in GIS, urban planning, and spatial analysis to ensure technical accuracy and relevance.
• Collaborate asynchronously with domain experts and research teams to refine task design and validation.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in Geography, GIS, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
• Experience working with GIS platforms and government spatial databases (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, USGS, Census Bureau).
• Strong background in spatial analysis, geospatial data science, or urban planning workflows.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical thinking.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong English proficiency.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, research-driven environment.
