Job summary

My3tech in Mechanicsville, VA is seeking a GIS Analyst 3 to design, build, and deploy GIS applications and web maps. The role requires strong experience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and Python to automate analyses and create multi-layer maps.

You will work on complex spatial analyses, communicate technical concepts to non-technical users, and collaborate with a team in a hybrid office setting 3-4 days a week.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in GIS, Geography, Cartography, CS, or related field with GIS experience.
• 4-8 years of GIS experience and GIS application development.
• 5+ years designing, building, and delivering web applications.
• Experience using ArcGIS API for JavaScript or other mapping APIs.
• Excellent problem-solving, verbal and written communication, design, development, debugging skills.
• Must have experience with complex analysis and mapping projects.
• Ability to communicate technical info to non-technical users, orally and in writing.
• High competence in ArcGIS Pro 3.x+ including ArcSDE and ArcGIS Enterprise.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Computer Science, or other related field with GIS experience.
• 4-8 years of experience in GIS and GIS application development.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience designing, building, and delivering web applications.
• Experience developing web applications using ArcGIS API for JavaScript or other JavaScript mapping APIs.
• Excellent problem-solving, verbal, and written communication, design, development, and debugging skills.
• Must have experience in the development of complex analysis and mapping projects.
• Must have the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical computer users, both orally and in writing.
• Candidates shall demonstrate high competence in ESRI GIS software suite (ArcGIS Pro 3.x and higher) including, but not limited to, a thorough knowledge of ArcSDE and ArcGIS Enterprise (server, portal, web adaptors, data stores).
• Must work independently to develop GIS tools and applications, perform complex analyses, and develop multi-layered maps by using an appropriate combination of tools in the GIS application suite and other programming environments.
• Self-starter with a technical background in software and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Candidate should have proficiency in Python.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience and demonstrated proficiency in data extraction, analysis, and scripting tools, preferably Oracle SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Prior experience with LRS and working knowledge and experience with ESRI Roads & Highways or other similar systems is a plus.
• Prior experience working with enterprise asset management systems and datasets.
• Develop and maintain linear referencing systems (LRS) and GIS applications to support spatial data management needs.
• Experience in Reporting Tools such as Power BI is strongly desired.

Working Conditions

• In-state travel may be required sometimes.
• This position follows a hybrid Work Model requiring you to work 3-4 days per week from the office.

Required Experience

• Experience in GIS and GIS application development - 6 years.
• Experience in ESRI GIS Software Suite (ArcGIS Pro 3.x and higher) - 5 years.
• Must have the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical computer users, both orally and in writing - 5 years.

Highly Desired
