Job summary

Stellar Services is seeking a GIS Technician to assist with creating, modifying, and quality controlling geospatial data for enterprise-wide use, while collaborating with other groups to develop efficient workflows that reflect the Enterprise GIS goals.

Ideal candidates have 0–3 years of GIS/transportation operations experience, strong GIS/GPS knowledge, ArcGIS, ETL (Safe), SDE geodatabases, and PowerBI, and will document procedures, train users, and prepare technical reports.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years experience in GIS and transportation operations.
• Create, modify, and QA geospatial data.
• Familiar with ESRI ArcGIS software and GIS workflows.
• Strong MS Office and PowerBI skills for reports.
• Develop and maintain program documentation and reports.
• Experience with ETL and Safe ETL software.
• Integrate ESRI with enterprise systems.
• Prepare technical reports and user documentation.

Job description

Salary Depends on Experience: $60,000 - $100,000

• Assist with the creation, modification, and quality control of geospatial data forcompany wide use.
• Work with other groups and departments in a collaborative manner to help developefficient workflows which fully utilize and properly reflect the technical skill sets whilealigning with the Enterprise GIS goals.
• Recent, related experience (approximately 0 - 3 years) in planning/analysis and GIS,preferably in transportation operations.
• Must possess excellent computer skills to include working knowledge of GIS/GPS, ESRIArcGIS software, database management system, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint,Excel), PowerBI, with ability to prepare spreadsheets, presentations and reports.
• Must be familiar with personal and SDE geodatabases, construct and manage linearreferencing systems, data creating and editing, perform geoprocessing and other spatialanalyses, cartographic production, and integrate GIS data with external databases.
• Familiarity with FME, extract transform, and load (ETL) software produced by Safe.
• Experience integrating and interfacing ESRI with existing enterprise systems.
• Provides references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; trainingusers.
• Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information andtrends.
• Develop and maintain technical and standard documentation for program developmentactivity in a timely and high-quality manner.
• Maintains system protocols by writing and updating procedures.
