The candidate will serve as a GIS Analyst supportingmultiple highly complex applications primarily for the Department ofEnvironment, Great Lake, and Energy (EGLE) They will collaborate with thedevelopment providing advice and guidance, as needed, to development staffwhile working closely with Project Managers to ensure project quality,milestones, and deadlines are met. They will develop solutions and streamlinespatial data needs through the maintenance and modification of existing web,client server, or mobile applications. Additional application developmentsupport to address needs of the DNR, EGLE, and MDARD Application Developmentsection may be assigned as needed.
Theymust adhere to the standards set forth by the Department of TechnologyManagement and Budget (DTMB), and the Client. Develop or approve plans fortesting and implementation of web-based, client/server, mobile or data systemapplications. Evaluate the impact of new technology, recommend solutions topersistent problems, and serve as Customer Service liaison to the client andexternal consultants. Keep current with changing IT technologies throughcontinuous learning. Support applications that exist on a wide variety ofplatforms including, but not limited to, PC-based, Web-based, and Mobile.Legacy application development and maintenance may require knowledge of otherplatforms.
