City of El Paso is seeking a GIS professional to manage and coordinate GIS hardware and applications, develop a computerized mapping system, and ensure data integrity for city-wide projects.
Under supervision, you will train end users, define procedures, and collaborate with information technology and city departments. A Bachelor's degree and 3 years GIS experience are required, plus CJIS background eligibility.

A Bachelor's degree, or higher, in management information systems, computer science, geography or related field, and three (3) years experience in developing & maintaining computer-generated geographic information systems (GIS) for various assigned database applications, including SDE, ArcGIS server programming or Flex viewer programming.
A Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent issued by another state by time of appointment.
Applicants for positions assigned to the Department of Information Technology Services must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) finger-print based background check within the first six months from hire and maintain CJIS eligibility. CJIS requirements are related to system access and the following list of convictions and/or deferred adjudications will result in failure of the CJIS background check and disqualification and termination from employment:
