Job summary

The City of North Port seeks a GIS Analyst to coordinate GIS efforts, prepare maps and databases, and ensure accurate addressing and land data that support permitting, public safety, and community development.

Under the GIS Manager, you will manage datasets, develop standards, and collaborate with Planning, IT, ERP, Fire/EMS, Utilities, and other departments to deliver reliable GIS services and web-mapping capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience with GIS data management and land records systems.
• Ability to develop standards for GIS creation and maintenance of maps and databases.
• Strong analytical skills for complex data and project demands.
• Knowledge of addressing policies and public-facing mapping.
• Ability to work with multiple city departments and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate GIS data to support planning related projects.
• Update and maintain address databases and master street data.
• Develop and implement procedures for GIS map and database maintenance.
• Produce maps, charts and reports; support web-based mapping applications.
• Provide technical assistance and training for Land Management users.
