Job summary

Stafford County Public Schools seeks an Athletic Coach or Activity Sponsorship Coach to lead student athletes and activity participants at the secondary level. The role emphasizes teaching technical skills, safety, discipline, and sportsmanship while aligning with athletic department requirements.

The position involves managing all aspects of the assigned sport/activity, coordinating practices and events, and collaborating with staff to maintain a positive learning environment and compliance

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Experience in the sport/activity sponsorship program preferred.
• Completion of VHSL and district coaching requirements (CPR/First Aid/AED, concussion training, background check).
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee or lead all aspects of the sport or activity sponsor program.
• Plan and conduct effective practices, competitions, or meetings.
• Supervise and/or support colleagues or coaches.
• Collaborate with colleagues and demonstrate appropriate behavior amongst students.
• Ensure compliance with VHSL, district and school policies.
• Manage scheduling and program organization.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents and school administration.
