Job summary

The Diocese of Providence St. Mary Academy–Bay View in East Providence, RI, seeks a Varsity Head Coach for Girls’ Basketball to lead all aspects of the program from December through March, guiding student-athletes toward athletic excellence and personal growth.

The Head Coach collaborates with the Athletics Department, adheres to RIIL and school policies, and reports to the Director of Athletics; evenings and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as Varsity Basketball Head Coach or collegiate playing experience preferred.
• NFHS certification or willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED.
• Dedication to the school, student-athlete and athletic program.
• Ability to motivate student-athletes to their maximum potential.

Responsibilities

• Organize, coach, and administer the full Varsity Basketball Program.
• Teach skills with attention to health and safety.
• Foster a culture of discipline, sportsmanship, accountability, and respect.
• Develop game plans adaptable to opponents.
• Encourage active participation and positive behavior.
• Provide leadership to the Assistant Coach.
• Manage equipment inventory.
• Submit end-of-season reports and documentation.
• Follow Athletic Handbook policies.
