Job summary

Seattle Academy in Seattle seeks an engaging coach for the Upper School Girls Basketball Varsity team to advance our inclusive learning community and model leadership. The role requires teaching fundamentals, ensuring student-athlete health and safety, and clear communication with players, families and staff.

Practices occur up to five days a week with up to three competitions weekly. The position runs from November 17, 2026 to March 3, 2027, with a $7,000 seasonal stipend and no fringe

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Demonstrated competence and experience in coaching.
• Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid First Aid/CPR card.

Responsibilities

• Teach fundamentals, techniques and skills for the sport.
• Ensure health and safety of student-athletes.
• Articulate a coaching philosophy with developmentally appropriate methods.
• Emphasize sportsmanship and leadership among athletes.
• Clearly communicate with players, parents, administrators and staff.
• Attend all meetings and trainings required by league or Athletic Director.
• Comply with school policies and protect students, staff and facilities.
