Qualifications

• Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport (major sports).
• Head coach must have substantial knowledge of technical aspects of the sport and stay updated with theories and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Has knowledge of athletic policies and ensures implementation by the sports staff.
• Understands system, state and league regulations; interprets them for staff.
• Performs duties assigned by athletic director/principal; assists in scheduling and transportation.
• Provides documentation for state and system requirements; mentors athletes to develop character traits (trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, citizenship).
• Inspires respect for equipment and school property; monitors student-athlete grades and conduct.
• Maintains safety and supervision during practices, games, and travel; completes necessary paperwork for injuries.
