Bancroft School, a PreK–12 independent day school in Worcester, Massachusetts, is seeking a Varsity Girls Basketball Assistant Coach. The role reports to the Director of Athletics and supports student-athletes academically, athletically, and personally.

The ideal candidate will have high school–level coaching experience or be a strong developing leader with a solid basketball background, maintain CPR/First Aid/AED certification, and pass school background checks.

Qualifications

• Basketball fundamentals and coaching concepts required.
• Ability to teach strategy and team concepts to student-athletes.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
• Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification or ability to obtain.
• Must pass school background checks.

Responsabilités

• Lead and mentor high school student-athletes and foster an inclusive team culture.
• Plan, coordinate, and run after-school/evening practice sessions as scheduled (4:00–5:30 pm or 5:30–7:00 pm).
• Support athletes academically, athletically, and personally for growth.
• Ensure CPR/First Aid/AED certification is current or obtain as needed.
• Assist with game-day logistics and report to the Director of Athletics.

Position Summary Reporting to the Director of Athletics, Bancroft School seeks a Varsity Girls Basketball Assistant Coach for its high school program in the competitive Eastern Independent League (EIL) . The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader who builds a strong, inclusive team culture and supports each student-athlete’s growth—academically, athletically and personally.The team practices Monday-Friday at either 4:00-5:30pm or 5:30-7:00pm. Game-day schedules vary. The stipend for the position is $3000. The start date for this position is November 16, 2026.

• Prior coaching experience at the high school, club or collegiate level is preferred but not required
• Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals, strategy, and team management.
• Ability to serve as a positive role model and mentor to high school student-athletes.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or ability to obtain).
• Must pass School background checks
