Job summary

Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire is seeking a Girls Varsity Assistant Squash Coach for the winter season. The role is part-time and on-campus, reporting to the Athletic Director, with bi-weekly salaried wages.

Qualifications

• Keep abreast of changing rules, techniques, technologies, and philosophies relevant to squash.
• Adjust coaching techniques based on the strengths and weaknesses of athletes.
• Instruct individuals or groups in rules, game strategies, and performance principles.
• Evaluate athletes' skills and review performance records to assess fitness and potential.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

REPORTS TO

Athletic Director

SCHEDULE

Sports teams have daytime practice Monday,Tuesday, Thursday,Friday, with home and away games/matchesWednesday and Saturday. Season begins November 16, 2026 throughpotentially March 7, 2027. Schedule may vary according todepartmental and Academy needs.

Wage

$3,175 - $3,880 Based on relevant experience.

Position Purpose

Instruct or coach teams and individual students in the fundamentalsof sports. Demonstrate techniques and methods of participation. Mayevaluate athletes' strengths and weaknesses as possible recruits,or to improve the athlete’s technique to prepare them forcompetition.

Job Responsibilities

Position Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or GED required.
• College degree preferred.

Experience

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Has played sport in high school or college or has reached alevel of expertise in the sport as an adult through participationcoaching or through a formal coaching development program.
• Experience in an academic institution preferred.
• Experience working with adolescents in an educational settingpreferred.

Physical Requirements

1. Physical demands are in excess of those for sedentary work andwill require the ability to remain standing for extended periods oftime, go up and down flights of steps, lift and push heavy objectsas well as stoop, squat, bend, kneel, crouch, and lift.
2. Physically able to act quickly in emergencies.
3. Ability and dexterity to grasp and grip and safely operatesports equipment.
4. Ability to lift and transport up to 25lbs withoutassistance.

1. Successfully complete a criminal background check (reviewedevery 5 years).
2. Clean driving record (reviewed annually).
