Job Summary

Instruct student athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training to achieve individual and team success. Foster moral values, pride, social behavior, self-discipline, and self-confidence. Promote good community relations among school and community members.

  • Supervisor: Athletic Director or designee
Responsibilities
  • Develop communication procedures with parents and athletes.
  • Set expectations and direction for program participants.
  • Supervise practice, games, trips, and locker rooms.
  • Create and follow training plans.
  • Monitor attendance, behavior, and academics.
  • Enforce district, school, and CHSAA policies.
  • Apply first-aid and CPR when needed.
  • Recognize and respond to concussion symptoms.
  • Develop emergency response plans specific to the sport.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to organize and develop a high school girls tennis program.
  • Knowledge of girls tennis techniques and openness to new methods.
  • Valid Colorado Coaching Certificate or ability to obtain one.
  • Pass CHSAA Coaches Test, register with CHSAA, and complete concussion course.
  • CPR and AED certification required.
Experience and Certifications

All certifications must be current. Prior coaching or playing experience preferred.

Physical and Work Environment
  • Heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs).
  • Overhead lifting, squatting, standing, bending, and kneeling.
  • Repetitive motions, eye/hand coordination, and communication skills required.
