Job summary

Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 is seeking an assistant coach to support the head coach in instructing athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and training for competitive performance. The role emphasizes developing character, sportsmanship, self-discipline, and confidence while contributing to the district's athletic program.

Coaches will be assigned for one school year, with renewal depending on administrator recommendations and School Board approval.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Has previous experience as an effective coach in the assigned sport.
• CPR and Concussion Protocol training required.

Responsibilities

• Assist head coach in sport-specific program and supervise athletes.
• Maintain professional conduct and be a role model for other coaches and student athletes.
• Ensure practice times align with Athletic Director and CHSAA direction.
• Promote communication between schools and community to support program improvement.
• Attend all sport-specific practices and games.
• Assist head coach during summer athletic camp activities.
• Maintain equipment inventory and protect gear under jurisdiction.
• Prepare practice and game field/court for activities.
• Communicate training rules and regulations to athletes.
• Provide accurate information to head coach for district, community and media.
