NOTICE OF POSITION

POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Tonja M. Williams Knight, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Girls Soccer Coach (JV) at Olmsted High School #156 for the 2025-2026 school year.

JOB SUMMARY:
This position involves coaching student athletes, teaching game strategies and techniques, and preparing them for athletic competition.

CERTIFICATIONS:
In accordance with NYS regulations, candidates must meet First Aid/CPR/AED requirements before applying. Certified teachers can coach with their existing certification but must meet these requirements first. Non-teacher coaches must complete either the NYS Coaching Certification program via Erie 1 BOCES or the NFHS NYS Specific Second Pathway. More info: http://www.section6.e1b.org/domain/123.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in organized soccer at any level is preferred. Candidates should possess effective coaching skills, knowledge of the sport’s rules and strategies, and the ability to establish positive relationships with stakeholders.

SUPERVISOR:
Athletics Director and Building Principal or Designee.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Adhere to NFHS Coaches Code of Ethics.
  2. Model nondiscriminatory practices.
  3. Take responsibility for team conduct.
  4. Oversee the philosophy and teachings of the athletic program.
  5. Be available for practices and contests, including some holidays.
  6. Manage equipment, uniforms, and supplies.
  7. Coordinate with the Athletic Director for scheduling and reports.
  8. Build positive relationships with all stakeholders.
  9. Attend meetings and conduct athlete organization meetings.
  10. Prepare schedules, follow injury procedures, and submit rosters and scores.
  11. Notify staff of cancellations and supervise team members post-activities.
  12. Complete end-of-season reports and comply with policies and regulations.
  13. Make team decisions within established policies, consulting with the Athletic Director as needed.
  14. Assess player skills and model sportsmanship.
  15. Participate in school activities and support tasks.

OTHER DUTIES:

  1. Attend professional development activities.
  2. Perform additional duties as assigned.

SALARY: As per the current BTF contract.
FUND #: Pending Funding.
