Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Community Engagement Facilitator in Omaha to support Girl Scout troops from October through May. The role helps build courage, confidence, and character in girls through engaging activities and mentorship.

The Facilitator will lead troop meetings 2–4 times per month, plan age-appropriate activities, and collaborate with families and volunteers to ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging experience for all participants.

Qualifications

• Experience working with youth, education, recreation, or community programs preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead groups and engage participants from diverse backgrounds.
• Must pass required background screening.
• Must be at least 19 years old.

Responsibilities

• Run a Girl Scout troop 1-4 times per month based on council needs. Lead and facilitate regular troop meetings.
• Plan and deliver engaging age-appropriate activities.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all girls.
• Guide girls in leadership development, goal setting, and decision-making.
• Communicate with families regarding meetings, events, and troop activities.
• Support participation in Girl Scout programs, the cookie program, events, and community service projects.
• Ensure adherence to Girl Scout safety guidelines and policies.
• Maintain attendance records and basic program documentation.
