Job summary

Rock Ridge High School in Ashburn, VA, is seeking a head girls lacrosse coach for the Spring season (February–May). This part-time role focuses on leading the varsity team, directing training, and coordinating with the athletic department to ensure a high-quality program.

The candidate should have coaching experience at high school or college level, CPR/First Aid certification, and preferred teaching or classified employee background with Loudoun County Public Schools.

Qualifications

• Coaching experience at high school or college levels is required or preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is required or must be enrolled in a training program.
• Prefer experience as a teacher or classified employee for Loudoun County Public Schools.
• Prefer Virginia Teaching License candidate or a full-time classified employee for Loudoun County Public Schools.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining high academic standards for all student athletes.
• Assist athletic director and principal in hiring/retention of assistant coaches.
• Direct, supervise, and evaluate regular performance of all assistant coaches.
• Work with athletic director to ensure proper insurance coverage for all athletes.
• Collaborate with other head coaches to run a well-balanced athletic program.
• Promote values of sportsmanship and pride in team, school, and community.
• Direct training, conditioning, and performance of varsity team; lead and assist assistant coaches.
• Be present at varsity contests and supervise athletes at invitational meets or postseason events.
• Advise athletic director on schedules and officials’ performance and selection.
