Job summary

Calvert County Public Schools seeks a Girls Lacrosse Head Coach at Northern High School in Owings, Maryland. The role focuses on developing student-athletes through ethical coaching, safety, and athletic skill advancement.

The coach will report to the School Principal/Activities Director, implement an athlete-centered program, and promote positive values within the school and community. Starting date is immediate for the 2026-27 spring season.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association approved course in the care and prevention of athletic injuries by end of year one.
• Must earn Accredited Interscholastic Coach certification from NFHS by end of year one.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an athlete-centered coaching philosophy.
• Identify, model and teach positive values and behaviors through sports.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct.
• Prevent injuries by ensuring the facility and equipment is safe and appropriate.
• Monitor environmental conditions and modify participation as needed.
• Organize and plan practices to maximize performance, time on task and resources.
• Create a positive program, public relations with parents, school and community.
• Maintain fiscal and organizational record keeping for the program.
• Implement an emergency action plan and evaluation techniques.
• Fulfill legal responsibilities and risk management procedures.
