Responsibilities include planning practices, ensuring safety, mentoring student athletes, and supporting game strategy. Must complete required Maryland coaching certifications within the first year of coaching.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association approved course in the care and prevention of athletic injuries by the end of the first year of coaching.
• Must earn Accredited Interscholastic Coach certification from the National Federation of High Schools by the end of the first year of coaching.
• Experience coaching girls basketball is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and lead student athletes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an athlete-centered coaching philosophy.
• Identify and model positive values through sports.
• Ensure safety and prevent injuries through proper facility and equipment checks.
• Plan practices to maximize time on task and performance.
• Create a positive athletic environment that supports student growth.
• Lead scouting, game planning and performance analysis.
