Job summary

East Side Union High School District seeks a Frosh-Soph/JV Coach with demonstrated coaching or playing experience in the sport to guide student-athletes. The role emphasizes commitment, discipline, and teamwork, with collaboration among coaches, parents, students, and staff to support academic and athletic balance.

The position reports to the Athletic Director and site principal, requiring adherence to CIF/CCSBVAL Codes of Conduct and district cash-handling protocols.

Qualifications

• Playing experience at high school, college, amateur, or pro level.
• Coaching youth leagues, middle school, or sports camps in the same sport, or equivalent experience.
• Current State of California coaching certifications.
• Current district-required certifications including annual mandated reporter training.
• Must pass District Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of fundamental skills and techniques for the sport.
• Displays appropriate leadership, discipline, and teamwork.
• Organizes practices effectively.
• Collaborates with varsity head coach and Athletic Director to design conditioning programs.
• Adheres to district guidelines and policies in management and operations.
• Works with parents, students, staff, and community establishing positive communication.
• Balances academic workload with athletic commitments.
• Maintains equipment and uniforms as delegated by head coach/AD.
