Job summary

East Side Union High School District is seeking a Frosh‑Soph/JV Coach to lead and mentor student‑athletes in the specified sport. The Head Coach demonstrates coaching or playing experience and fosters commitment, discipline, and teamwork among students, staff, and families.

The role requires collaboration with the Athletic Director and site principal, adherence to district policies, and effective practice organization with parent groups while helping students balance academics with sports

Qualifications

• Playing experience at high school, college, amateur or pro level.
• Experience coaching youth leagues, middle school, or sports camps in the same sport.
• Current State of California coaching certifications.
• Current district certification including mandated reporter training.
• Must pass District Fingerprint clearance.
• Professional references available.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of fundamental skills for the sport.
• Organizes practices effectively and collaborates with coaches and AD.
• Designs an appropriate conditioning program with varsity staff.
• Communicates with players, parents, staff and community.
• Maintains equipment and inventories as directed.
• Follows CIF/CCSBVAL Coaches Code of Conduct and district policies.
• Assists in balancing academics with athletic commitments.
