Saugus High School is seeking applicants for the JV Lacrosse coaching position. The sub-varsity coaching duties include game and practice preparation, administrative duties, team evaluation, and registration support.

Work with parents and boosters to strengthen relationships, and collaborate with varsity staff under the athletic director. The role is after school/evening with a $3,531 stipend and requires coaching experience, lacrosse knowledge, and necessary certifications.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience required.
• Strong lacrosse knowledge and understanding of rules.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
• NFHS Concussion Course certification required.
• Coaching certification (MIAA/NFHS) preferred and then required within first year.
• NFHS sport-specific coaching certification preferred.
• CORI/background checks required.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for all game and practice preparation and coaching at the sub varsity level and support the varsity coaching staff when appropriate.
• Handle all administrative duties including departmental paperwork and policies.
• Conduct team evaluation and selection.
• Assist with registration to ensure eligibility for participation.
• Follow all MIAA, league, and school policies and procedures.
• Manage equipment, including uniforms and safety devices/materials.
• Collaborate with parents/guardians, booster groups, and community youth programs to strengthen relationships.
• Coordinate schedules of games, practices, and events with other coaches and share facilities and equipment.
• Establish a shared culture of expectations and behaviors for Sachem athletes.
• Be a positive role model and motivator with leadership and organizational abilities.
• Monitor and support student-athletes’ academic progress.
• Provide support to varsity coaching staff and program as directed by head coach/athletic director.
