Job summary

Liberal High School is seeking a knowledgeable, organized Head Girls Tennis Coach to lead and grow a competitive program. The Head Coach will develop student-athletes’ skills, foster a positive team culture, and promote sportsmanship, accountability, and academic success.

The Head Coach will plan practices, matches, and travel, create lineups, and supervise assistant coaches, while ensuring compliance with district policies.

Qualifications

• Previous tennis coaching or competitive playing experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of tennis fundamentals, rules, and match strategy
• Ability to teach players of varying skill levels
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
• Commitment to building a positive and inclusive team environment
• Availability for after-school practices, matches, and occasional weekend tournaments
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Must meet district employment and background check requirements

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead all practices, matches, and team events
• Develop individual and team training programs to improve skill development and match performance
• Create lineups and competitive strategies for meets and tournaments
• Foster a positive, disciplined, and team-oriented culture
• Promote sportsmanship, character development, and academic accountability
• Coordinate team travel, scheduling, and match logistics
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, administration, and staff
• Manage equipment, uniforms, and program needs
• Ensure compliance with school, district, and state/activity association rules and policies

• Monitor athlete eligibility and academic progress
