Job summary

Barrington Community Unit School District 220 is seeking a Girls Basketball Assistant Coach for the winter season. The assistant coach supports the head coach in running the athletic program, develops training plans, and helps implement game strategies while mentoring student-athletes in teamwork and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities include ensuring eligibility compliance, assisting with recruitment, and maintaining clear communication with staff, students, and families.

Qualifications

• Current professional educator license or NFHS coaching certification.
• Coaching experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Solid work ethic and organizational abilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work well with adults and student participants.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in running the athletic program in line with IHSA rules.
• Help implement training plans, practices, and game strategies.
• Mentor student-athletes in teamwork, sportsmanship and development.
• Ensure eligibility compliance and assist with recruitment.
• Maintain clear communication with staff, students and families.
• Support administrative tasks and uphold school policies.
