Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
• 64 semester hours (minimum) of college credit; or completion of KHSAA training as specified by bylaw 27.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must pass criminal records check per Kentucky law.
• Must meet health requirements per district policy.
• First aid course completed and CPR certification; other training per KHSAA Bylaw 27.

Responsibilities

• Assist head coach and/or other assistant coaches for one or more sports.
• Read, interpret and implement rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Promote sports in school and community; assist in planning and organizing practices.
• Teach fundamental skills, team plans and game strategy; enforce sportsmanship and self-control.
• Check eligibility including insurance coverage and parental consent; serve as a positive role model.
