Keystone Smiles Community Center is seeking AmeriCorps members to support teachers in strengthening student success in reading and math at Girard School District sites. You will team with educators to provide small-group instruction, assist with academics, and contribute to school-wide projects that promote achievement and engagement.

The role is a full-time daytime position with occasional evenings or weekends.

Join our team and help make a difference in students’ lives! We are looking for AmeriCorps members to support teachers in strengthening student success in reading and math. Members will serve alongside educators to assist with small group instruction, provide academic support, and contribute to school-based projects that promote student achievement and engagement. This is a great opportunity to be part of a dedicated team focused on helping every student grow while gaining hands-on experience in education.

Schedule: Monday – Friday - Full Time Daytime Hours (occasional evening / weekend hours)

1300 Hour Commitment Award with a

Monthly Pretax Living Allowance: $2,600.00 monthly gross (38 weeks)

Upon Competition of Term

Segal Education Award: $5,176.50

• Additionally, federal loan forbearance (pause in loan payments) while serving in AmeriCorps
• Accrued interest while serving as an AmeriCorps member paid by AmeriCorps program
• Education Award earned when program is successfully completed

AmeriCorps Responsibilities: (in addition to host site service)

• Plan and implement service-learning projects for students at host sites or in communities
• Attend monthly member meetings
• Complete virtual training to amplify service abilities
• Participate in National Service Days and planned events
• Create a service portfolio and track and report service outcomes
• Serve as an ambassador in your neighborhood and community
• Participate in a virtual pre-service training prior to serving at assigned host site

All members must participate in a three-day pre-service training which may be virtual or in-person.

AmeriCorps is a national service program in which during membership members also agree to participate in AmeriCorps activities in addition to host site placement responsibilities.

Activities are concentrated in the following areas:

• School Readiness & Success
• Mentoring Youth through Service
• Academic support service
• Community Strengthening through Outreach Events and SpecialProjects
• STEM/STEAM/STREAM activities and service learning
• Host sites may have additional areas of focus to be discussed at host site interview.
