Job summary

Scheels All Sports, Inc. is seeking a friendly Café associate to prepare food, beverages, and baked goods for customers. You’ll perform deli, barista, and grill tasks, while adhering to food safety guidelines and Scheels standards.

The role supports weekend shifts and a part-time schedule in a busy customer-facing environment. Experience in food service is helpful; high school education or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• High school education or related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Willingness to work a schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays; availability for at least two weekends per month.

Responsibilities

• Prepare different types of food, drinks, and baked goods for sale to customers.
• Perform all Café functions as assigned by the Café Manager and Supervisor (deli, food case, barista, grill, baked goods).
• Maintain knowledge of Café recipes, beverages, and prepared foods.
• Follow all food safety guidelines per Scheels, state, and local regulations.
• Ensure products are received and stored according to SOPs and cash handling guidelines.
• Manage side work, stocking, cleaning schedules, and opening/closing procedures.

Schedule: Must be available to work on an every other weekend rotation. Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays, must be available a minimum of two weekends a month. Average hours per week is 20 hours.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare different types of food, drinks, and baked goods, for sale to customers
• Perform all Ginna’s Cafe functions, which may include deli line, food case, barista, grill, baked goods, and other duties as assigned by the Café Manager and Supervisor
• Maintain working knowledge of Café recipes, beverages, and prepared foods
• Follow all food safety guidelines by Scheels, State, and Local Ordinances
• Ensure all products are received and stored according to Standard Operating Guidelines
• Ensure Scheels Cashier Guidelines are followed as it pertains to Café registers
• Manage and support side work, stocking, daily and detailed cleaning schedules, including machines and equipment, and opening and closing procedures
• Maintain an orderly and exceptionally clean appearance of personal workspace and surrounding areas, including dining areas
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals
• Ability to work assigned schedule, which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Education & Experience:

High school education, or up to one month of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
