Job summary

The Lansing School District is seeking an exceptional Gifted & Talented Teacher to lead advanced reading and math instruction for elementary students. This role emphasizes project-based learning, inquiry, and higher-order thinking in a diverse, supportive environment.

Schedule includes after-school sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with time for preparation, and multiple short sessions from November 9, 2026 to March 26, 2027.

Qualifications

• State teaching certification (preferred).

Position Overview

Lansing Public Schools is seeking an exceptional Gifted & Talented Teacher with deep content knowledge of reading and math. The ideal candidate is a dynamic educator who is passionate about challenging and inspiring gifted learners, fostering a culture of critical thinking, inquiry, and problem-solving.

$31 - $31 an hour

Hours: Tuesday and Thursday, 1.5 hours after school, .5 preparation time.

Dates:

• Session 1: November 9, 2026 - January 22, 2027
• Session 2: February 2, 2027 - March 26, 2027
