Job summary

Apogee School for the Gifted in Indianapolis invites résumés from caring elementary educators interested in teaching opportunities for grades K–6. We seek teachers who nurture curiosity, provide meaningful academic challenge, and support students’ social and emotional growth.

Our private, nonprofit school serves gifted, profoundly gifted, and twice-exceptional learners in a close-knit community. Classrooms are capped at 12-14 students to allow individualized learning plans and flexible

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in education or related field is required.
Ability to plan engaging instruction and adapt to readiness and needs.
Patient, respectful classroom management and student support.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Willingness to learn about giftedness, twice-exceptionality, and neurodivergent learners.
Ability to collaborate with families, colleagues, and leadership.

Responsibilities

Plan and teach engaging lessons aligned with standards, allowing depth and acceleration.
Differentiates instruction for students with varying readiness.
Establish welcoming routines and supportive relationships.
Support social and emotional development and calm regulation.
Collaborate with families and staff to implement learning and behavior supports.
Assess progress and use results to guide instruction.
Communicate progress regularly with families.
Participate in team planning and professional learning.
