Job Description

Required Certificates and Licenses: Texas Gifted and Talented Supplemental (K-12) Certification

Residency Requirements: This position is virtual and strongly prefers residents of Texas. May consider residents of surrounding states (NM, OK, AK, LA). The role may include travel up to 20% for professional development, testing, and other school requirements.

The Gifted & Talented Teacher advocates for the program within the school and community, providing resources and support for student success.

The mission of Stride K12 Texas partner schools (TXSS) is to deliver an engaging, individualized education through strong school and community partnerships, rigorous curriculum, and data-driven instruction. Success is measured via assessments, satisfaction, and institutional growth.

We seek passionate educators to join our talented team at TXSS. This is a full-time role, typically requiring 40+ hours weekly, with the ability to work independently from a professional home office during standard school hours.

Essential Functions
  • Support classroom teachers with differentiated instruction, enrichment, and depth for gifted/talented students.
  • Act as an advocate and resource for parents, teachers, and support staff.
  • Stay informed of current research and attend relevant workshops and conferences.
  • Assist counselors with promotion of enrollment and scholarships.
  • Support objectives asynchronously, including communication, planning, and data analysis.
  • Collaborate with teams and trainers regarding instruction, interventions, and data use.
  • Create videos and virtual tools to showcase G/T strategies.
  • Support class projects and student development of innovative and creative products.
Relationship Building
  • Be open to coaching and maintain positive communication with families and students.
  • Respond promptly to stakeholders and participate in staff meetings.
Other Functions
  • Participate in student and family activities, including virtual clubs and events.
  • Travel to testing sites for state exams.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and three years of teaching experience.
  • Texas Gifted and Talented Certification.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of state standards and ability to adapt learning plans.
  • Willingness to obtain additional licenses as needed.

Additional Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet research.
  • Ability to pass background checks and adapt to new technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain certification hours.
  • Reliable high-speed internet and willingness to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree and additional certifications such as ELL.
  • Experience with online teaching platforms and supporting diverse learners.
