Job summary

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Gift Officer manages a portfolio of individual donors (personal gifts, donor-advised funds, and family foundations). This role is responsible for the full donor cycle: identifying prospects, cultivating relationships, soliciting contributions, and providing ongoing stewardship. Working collaboratively with the CEO and development team, the Gift Officer will retain existing donors, recapture lapsed supporters, and attract new philanthropy to advance Kripalu's mission. This position plays a key role in Kripalu's expanding partnerships throughout the Berkshires and beyond, with special focus on engaging diverse communities and supporting social change initiatives. We seek a motivated individual eager to develop philanthropic leadership skills while contributing to our most impactful programs. ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage a portfolio of individual donors to meet annual fundraising goals.
  • Articulate and promote Kripalu’s expanding Impact programming and scholarship initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure appropriate outreach and engagement with donors.
  • Stay informed about evolving fundraising practices, contributing innovative ideas to enhance existing initiatives.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in sales or fundraising, with demonstrated success in building one-on-one relationships and maintaining productive internal and external partnerships.
  • Demonstrates impeccable integrity, sound judgment, and appropriate discretion with a professional demeanor that builds trust among leadership, donors, staff, government officials, and organizational partners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Experience with donor database management; Raiser's Edge NXT experience preferred.
