Job Overview
The Salvation Army Indiana Division is seeking a dedicated Gift and Estate Planning Stewardship Director to manage donor stewardship and marketing efforts within the Planned Giving department. The role involves building long-term relationships with donors and planning advisors, coordinating events and recognition programs, and supporting fundraising initiatives to advance the division's mission.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage a donor stewardship program, including recognition activities for the Hope Brigade donors.
- Develop and maintain relationships with donors through various communication channels, including face-to-face visits and phone calls.
- Execute a significant number of donor contacts annually, ranging from 150-300.
- Coordinate promotional materials, events, and recognition for the Hope Brigade Giving Society.
- Support planned giving directors with communications, vendor interactions, and database management.
- Maintain inventory of promotional and donor recognition items.
- Conduct donor research and engagement activities, including events and outreach to professional advisors.
- Manage mass mailings and ensure accurate data entry into Salesforce.
- Assist with donor and professional events, including marketing and invitations.
- Implement outreach activities such as the Red Shield Symposium and other engagement initiatives.
- Manage IRA and DAF gift solicitations, acknowledgments, and reporting.
- Ensure proper stewardship of planned and matured gifts, maintaining accurate records and reporting.
- Coordinate legal document receipt and processing related to estates, trusts, and wills.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for divisional financial decisions.
- Participate in webinars and training related to planned giving and fundraising software.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Two or more years of experience in fundraising, estate planning, or related fields.
- Fundraising or planned giving certifications are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and compliance with Safe From Harm training.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and fundraising software.
- Knowledge of estate and tax terminology is advantageous.
Physical and Travel Requirements
- Ability to perform typical office tasks, including using a computer and office equipment.
- Occasional local travel; minimal overnight travel.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a professional setting, with options for partial remote work. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
